30 billion Cells pasteurized Akkermansia MucT® with vitamins and chamomile flower extract. First time and exclusively approved in Germany and Austria. "ProBio-Cult AKK1 is a useful supplement for people who want to practice targeted intestinal care 1) 1 Vitamin B2 (riboflavin): contributes to the maintenance of normal mucous membranes, thus also the intestinal mucosa ". The intestinal mucosa – the home of the intestinal flora. Millions of adults in Germany know the importance of a healthy intestinal flora for metabolism, immune system and psyche – and already take preparations with bacteria. Less known, however, is that the intestinal flora relies on an intact intestinal mucosa. Continuous mucus formation is the basis. The intestinal mucosa permanently produces mucus. On the one hand, this mucus forms a physical protective layer on the intestinal mucosa, and on the other hand, it is home to thousands of beneficial bacteria in the intestinal flora. If the mucus formation is impaired by pleasure poisons, certain drugs or other external influences, the barrier function can decrease as well as the function of the intestinal flora. The intestinal mucosa can then come into direct contact with foreign substances; These can enter the body more easily. Conversely, a rich intestinal flora with all its advantages can develop on a dense mucus layer. Akkermansia muciniphila – loves the intestinal mucosa. Akkermansia muciniphila also lives in this mucus layer (muciniphila means: the mucus-loving). Although it is one of the most common intestinal bacteria, its isolation was only successful in 2004. In the short time since its discovery, the microorganism has already become the subject of numerous studies: research is currently underway into how a protein called “Amuc-1100” on the outer shell of Akkermansia muciniphila interacts with the mucous cells of the intestinal mucosa. Akkermansia muciniphila is a strictly anaerobic bacterium, i.e. it dies when exposed to oxygen in the air. Using a pasteurisation process, the stability and availability of the bacterium for ingestion in a dietary supplement could now be ensured. In addition, this process increases and improves the accessibility of the “Amuc-1100” protein. The postbiotic obtained in this way is called Pasteurised Akkermansia MucT®. Pasteurized Akkermansia MucT(R) does not compete or interact with diet or supplements. Their properties are independent of additional fiber or vitamins. Postbiotics are more robust and less sensitive to oxygen, stomach acid, bile salts and thus arrive functionally in the small and large intestines. Pasteurised Akkermansia MucT(R) has been classified as safe by the European Food Safety Authority (EFSA) and approved as a novel food by the European Commission. ProBio-Cult AKK1 contains the same amount of pasteurized Akkermansia MucT(R) that has been used in clinical trials - 10 to 100 times more than is usually present in other bacterial products. ProBio-Cult AKK1 contains a carefully selected combination of ingredients: methylfolate, a biologically active form of folic acid. Folate has a function in cell division. This may be particularly important during periods of rapid growth, such as the growth of intestinal mucosa cells. -Vitamin B2 (riboflavin): Riboflavin contributes to the maintenance of normal mucosa, thus also the intestinal mucosa. -Camill flower extract with apigenin: The naturally flavonoid apigenin seems to be able to interact with the intestinal flora. How and whether this may affect the composition and function of the intestinal flora is currently the subject of research. 1) ProBio-Cult Akk1 is therefore a useful supplement for people who want to carry out targeted intestinal care2. It depends on a healthy intestinal mucosa! 1) Riboflavin contributes to the maintenance of normal mucous membranes, thus also the intestinal mucosa 2 Wang et al 2019 Minqian Wang, Jenni Firrman, LinShu Liu, Kit Yam, "A Review on Flavonoid Apigenin: Dietary Intake, ADME, Antimicrobial Effects, and Interactions with Human Gut Microbiota", BioMed Research International, vol. 2019, Article ID 7010467, 18 pages, 2019
